True Corporation, together with the NBTC, carried out field inspections of SIM card registration in Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, and Phetchaburi, starting at the True Shop branch in Central Mahachai, aiming to close the loophole call-center gangs use to exploit phone numbers for tech crimes.
The inspection covered identity verification processes, number registration, customer data storage, and compliance by service centers and dealers. Lt. Gen. Dr. Natthon Prasongsoonthorn said proper SIM registration isn't just regulatory compliance, but a key mechanism closing off avenues for scammers. True also promoted its True CyberSafe service, automatically blocking dangerous links for True and dtac customers at no cost.
