Dusit Thani Group continues expanding in Japan with the opening of WE Hotel Toya under its luxury Dusit Collection brand, on the shore of Lake Toya in southwestern Hokkaido, within the UNESCO Toya-Usu Geopark, about 1 hour 40 minutes from New Chitose Airport. It's the group's first hotel in Hokkaido, building on its existing base in Kyoto, opening July 1, 2026.
The hotel has 55 lakeside rooms and 3 two-story villas, around 37 sqm each, every room with a private outdoor onsen bath overlooking the lake, plus a panoramic communal hot spring. Designed by Kengo Kuma, using natural materials and contemporary Japanese craftsmanship. Inside are 4 restaurants and bars, including The Noodle Bar, serving Thai noodles such as tom yum and khao soi. From July 1–September 30, 2026, get 20% off packages that include 2 meals a day.
